Table of Contents:

Introduction

The idea of alt texts is to function as written descriptions for images, used in addition to the images or in case the image can't be seen. Alt texts can be set for existing images in Stages, Questions and Answer Options. It is possiibe to set and edit alt text in the Concept Board or in the Languages view, where they can be translated as well. They can be set for both decoration and explanation images.

Info

When an image is deleted, that image's alt texts in all languages are deleted as well. When an image is simply replaced, the alt texts are not deleted. The same applies to image urls.

Concept Board

In the Concept Board, alt texts can be set in the detail view (General Properties for decoration images and Explanation Content for explanation images) where the image is either uploaded or specified using a url. For decoration and explanation images exists a button, highlighted in the images below, which opens a modal window if an image or image url has been uploaded.

In this modal window, shown below, the alt text for the image can be entered in the text input field. The image the alt text is for is displayed above the text input field. The alt text is only stored when confirmed.

Languages View

Once an image has been uploaded in the Concept Board, an option will appear in the Languages view to set or edit the alt text for that image. Here they can also be translated and stored for different languages. If an image does not exist, no alt text can be set or edited and no input field is displayed.
